Project Description:
Full refurbishment of main corporate reception and first floor, incorporating the innovative use of many materials traditionally found in the whisky industry.
Works Included:
- Structural alterations to facilitate the installation of new stainless steel staircase with glass treads, risers and glass balustrading
- Engraved copper timeline telling brief history of Bowmore Distillery runs through the width of the ground floor reception providing a both a feature and a natural break between the oak flooring and granite floor tiles
- Reclaimed oak from whisky barrels has been used as wall cladding
- Gents & ladies toilets have both been fitted out to a high standard incorporating natural slate wall linings
- Meeting room on first floor has a full length floor to ceiling electronic switchable glass wall to provide privacy when required
- Bespoke whisky bottle chandelier in the atrium
Careful planning and close liaison with the client was key throughout this project to manage the safety requirements of a "live" environment, whilst minimising the inconvenience to the ongoing operations.
